We all took a break to cheer our breed winner on to a Toy Group 2 placement, then moseyed on over to the host hotel for the annual banquet and fun-filled auction. The wonderful dinner was followed by acknowledgments to the Specialty Committee: Chair Cam- eron Riegel and Co-Chairs Barry Leece and Kathie Timko. Donors were recognized, with special thanks to Shannon Biszantz, Stevie Bernard and Susan Ptacek whose generos- ity enabled the committee to provide new elements to the Nationals week- end that truly made it “The Land of Aff-Enchantment.” The evening’s events consisted of a silent auction for the benefit of both ACA and Affen

Rescue, followed by the always fun live auction hosted by Doug Wolfe. Items varied from monkey themed gift baskets to original artwork craft- ed by Affen lovers from the US, Eng- land and New Zealand. Alien themed prizes donned the trophy table, in- cluding alien themed candy, as space- ships hovering over Affens adorned the ring markers and 4-foot green aliens manned the club’s ringside snack table. Best of Breed, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex were presented with hand crafted “Affen Alien” grooming table covers, Select Dog and Bitch, as well as Win- ners Dog and Bitch, were presented “Affen Alien” Grooming Tool Aprons, while Reserve Winners Dog and Bitch received large “Affen Alien” tote bags and first in each class received a small “Affen Alien” tote bag.
