Fan Yu and his wife, Amy, were also in attendance. Fan is being com- missioned to make a life size bronze statue of Oeste’s In the Name of Love (Bono). Fan is a handler, a groomer, and now a sculptor. He has been cre- ating dog sculptures in both Europe and the US. He has a way of captur- ing both the movement and the per- sonalities of various breeds. His first sculpture was of Mick, the Kerry Blue Terrier who won both at Westminster and then at Crufts. He created his first sculptures in clay, and later saw the clay deteriorated with time, and turned to bronze as his preferred me- dium. We were honored to have Fan Yu present for the celebration. The bronze statute should be on com- pleted and on display in time for the 2020Westminster Dog Show. Bono is ranked as number one among all breeds, number one Toy and num- ber one Havanese All Systems. Bono is owned by Patrina Walters Odette, Bruce Odette, Rafe Schindler, Taffe McFadden, Julie Vogel and Mary King. Bono, aka MBIS MBISS GCHPOeste’s in the Name of Love, is sired by Ch. Oeste’s TopGun (“Cruz”) and is out of BIS GCH Oeste’s Steal- ing the Starlight (“Lucia”). He was bred by Rafe, Taffe, Julie and Mary King.
