Linda Baker and GCh Airescot Sunset went on to a Best Owner-Handled Group Two. After breed judging, we reassembled in the grooming area for the hands-on portion of education. Lots of Affens to examine and observe and in depth dis- cussions followed. Everyone was ask- ing questions and sharing and we all agreed it was a fantastic opportunity to share and learn in a fun environment of camaraderie. The Yellowstone Valley KC hosted a free BBQ lunch for all exhibitors which was tasty and most generous of the Club. Then it was time to conduct some

business at the ACA Annual Meeting. After a spirited presentation by the show chair of the 2017 National, Jude Daly, we all thought it was a bright idea to meet up in Edison, New Jersey in March 2017 to celebrate the “Year after the Monkey”. We also voted to go to South Bend, Indi- ana in July 2018 to do it all again. ACA also decided to support the entry at the 2020 Morris & Essex event. There were no Affenpinschers at M&E in 2015 and we did not want that to happen again. After the meeting adjourned, most everyone stayed to support Fiona for the Group One under Tim Robbins and the BIS from LeeAnn Bateman. It was an exciting finish to the day but now on to party, the auction and cocktails. Our banquet was a casual buffet with a big Raffle and Auction. Many Affen and Monkey items were available for bidding. After the cocktail hour Jude Daly, our auctioneer, took center stage. The bidding became hot and heavy and several of the more sought after items went for big bucks. The woolen

Monkey Hat was a winner and Linda Fer- ris from Texas was going with a group of ladies to Yellowstone Park the next day. She was certain to be cold! The groups from PA and NH also wished to acquire this item, but Dr. Brown won the bidding and presented the hat to Linda as a thank you and to keep her warm with its monkey head and long tasseled strings. A beautiful handmade quilt made from multiple t-shirts from previous years’ Nationals was the final auction item. It was won by Fiona’s owner, Milan Lint who generously donated it back to be auctioned next year to support Affenpinscher Rescue. This was a win for all Affens and their people. The auction generated much laughter (and funds) as our competitive natures boosted the bids. For a small, rare breed, the love and devotion is enormous and wide spread throughout the US and the world. As we all said our goodbyes, plans were already underway to meet up in March 2017 in Edison.
